In Summer's Sun and Winter's Winds

In Summer’s Sun and Winter’s Winds

The hours shared as one,

Now have dwindled down to none.

The road that we had traveled,

Has gone from paved to gravel.

Every hour knows a moment I reminisce of our days,

But no longer could I stand the danger of your ways.

The fault of parting is of mine alone,

But the memories I keep are of the closest to home.

Mirages

Mirages

I have earned my crucifixion,

Toil put towards my own demise,

The hole dug with dogged determination,

So sure such moves were wise.

Led askew by beauteous mirages,

In a desert challenged by the fool alone,

When comes time of the sun’s western lodging,

All that will remain is bleached bone.
